A Burned Lesson Learned

What a way to start a Sunday. Well, my best friend came to town for a visit. I am usually a good host and try not to make any visit from a friend a hard one. So, I set the iron and ironing board up for him this morning. I went with the thought that he only needed to press his cotton shirt. Not paying attention to the temperature on the iron, he took a dive right on to his slacks. The iron immediately burned and scorched his pants. Of course, I was apologetic and thought "I forgot to hand him the pressing cloth."

My mother introduced me to the pressing cloth many moons ago. It is a piece of fabric that you place between the iron and your garment while ironing. It protects your garments from being burned, scorched and any residue that could come from your iron. If you want to "dry cleaners crease" in your slacks, the pressing cloth would be an awesome investment. You can also dampen it to add additional mou With many of the leading designer brands selling machine-washable garments, the pressing cloth will definitely be useful.

Anyway, before he hit the highway back to Texas, we stopped by the local Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts store and I purchased him his very own pressing cloth. It's regularly priced at $5.49 but they had a coupon for 50% off regular priced items so I got it for $2.74. Because they were on sell, I got an extra one for myself.

Pressing clothes are also available at major retailers such as Walmart, Target and JCPenney. Get you one GENTS!
