Thoughtful Steps For A Housewarming

Aight Gents! I had the opportunity to attend one of my closest friend's housewarming in Charlotte, NC. Because we talk about an array of topics here, I thought it would be beneficial to actually write about my experience as well as give a few pointers on how to be a memorable yet thoughtful guest.
1.) Wear a good pair of socks. It's important that you wear a new or good pair of socks when visiting someone's house for the first time. You never know if the house that you will be celebrating in is a shoeless house . Don't be the guy with the basic, old, holey, or faded socks. I picked up a new pair of socks from Moods of Norway just to be ahead.
2.) Don't wear dark washed jeans or any clothing that would leaves remnants that you were actually there. You don't want to wear dark washed jeans because the dye can transfer to other fabrics or better yet the newly painted walls in your friend's house. Play it safe and wear a fabric that doesn't bleed over into others upon contact.
3.) Bring a gift! Most of the times people register at their favorite stores so you'll know specifically what they are wanting for their new home.
4.) Bring a bottle of wine! It is 2017...there is no reason to show up to anyone's house without a bottle of wine. Since this occasion is a house warming, I suggest bringing a white wine. Reason being is that you don't want to risk spilling red wine in someone's new home and risking permanent staining.
5.) Eat before you arrive. It is in good practice to never go anywhere hungry. Besides, you don't know whether or not the food that will be there will be something you actually want to eat. On the flip side of that, you also don't want to over indulge in the food and become the "friend who pigged out" at the house warming.
6.) Be gracious. A smile and a congratulations go a very long way with new home owners. Also, whether or not you approve of their décor, choice of food served, or music played, you should still give the appearance that your are happy to be there! It's not your dwelling, so find something to be happy about and bring that good energy. Remember, it's always good to give positive vibes when you are in someone's personal space.
Well guys, it is never my intention to hold you too long. Just like fashion, personalize your own house warming experience! These are just tidbits of info I figured someone could use. Be Great!
