Alright Gents! Today officially marks the first day of spring. I know many of you have been itching to break out those bright colors and ditch the Chelsea boots. Well, you can do so today! March 19th is the beginning of spring. There are some fashion trends that I want to give you a heads up about so when you walk into your favorite store you're not surprised. Although I'm not a fan, the vertical stripes have made there way back from extinction. This is said to be the newest go-to pattern this season. The runways were saturated with striped jackets, knit tops and tanks.

One of my favorite trends from the fall and winter is making its way into spring- Tonal Dressing (Monochromatic Dressing). In previous blog posts I've given you guys examples of how to do it all with the monochromatic look. This is convenient as many of you already have these items in your closet; therefore, there is no need for you to put extra work on your AMEX this spring. Think of tonal dressing as the spring and summers all-black. You can now drape yourself in your favorite blues, tans and off-whites, and even grays (with a white accent top of course).

One of my favorite trends that has come back is the Dad Denim. Yes, it is finally safe to break away from those super skinny and restricting jeans that we can't seem to ever shake. Now, you can welcome any loose fit, light washed, straight-legged jean. It's almost like you can truly emulate the man your dad and it be considered cool. There are some standards that you want to go by so that you truly aren't your dad. You want to go for a shorter cropped design pant or simply roll the bottom. It still isn't a fad to have excess fabric drowning your ankles and cool shoes. You can match these comfy jeans with your favorite t-shirt, loose-fitting shirts in pastel shades and if you must- your Chelsea boot.

I wasn't before, but I am now more than ever a fan of Tropical Print Shirts. Yep, they haven't gone anywhere. Now, I know many of you have not found comfort nor delight in the printed shirts because they are seen as gaudy, over-bearing, too bold, or may send a too relaxed feel. Trust me, I thought the same before adding them to my wardrobe. However, you can subtly introduce yourself and your friends to this trend this spring. It is safe to go with the darker patterned prints and pair them with a dark tailored chino or jean to complete the look! Regardless of how many rain showers you have...your wardrobe will definitely bring about a tropical mood.

Finally, we are to welcome in the Eighties again! Boxy suit jackets and over-sized shirts were premiered on runways worldwide. Another trend that you will see to never die is Pink. That's right! Pink isn't going anywhere guys. The shade of pink that is set to take place is known as "Millennial pink." This is a warmer pink and somewhat blushed rose. That's all I have for now guys, but I will return with more. I just wanted to give you and overarching insight into what is hot this season! I found a happy medium with my outfit below.
