Good afternoon Gents! I know it has been forever since I have reached out to you. I must say, adjusting to my knew life and new way of living has been one interesting experience. I led this post with the "never have I ever" phrase because I reminded me of the childhood game that I would play with my friends. I want to believe if I played this game with my adult friends, would the impact still be the same? With that, "Never Have I Ever Known Anyone Who Lives/Lived in New Hampshire!" We will call this blog the "Black Eskimo" edition.
I want to say that moving to New Hampshire last July has been one of the most rewarding experiences that I could have ever given myself. While the cold temperatures and the snowy and icy roads may serve as a deterrent to most, I have found much enjoyment living and occupying this space! I am an Urban Planner by degree(s), so of course I drew this self-assessment from the perspective of "quality of life." I no longer have to bother with the pesky ATL traffic, or fight with lines to get to my favorite happy hour spot. Getting to work in the morning and home in the evening is a breeze- literally! The distances and over abundance of folks on the road is no longer problematic for me. Adjusting to buying winter tires and several Chukka boots has been my adjustment. I am now a master collector of sherpas...hence the Polo by Ralph Lauren one that I am wearing in the image above.
I am most proud to say that, I am happy to have my smile back! Moving away from all of humanity as I know it has not been a bleak moment by far, but being situated upon a mountain alone has been breathtaking and peace generating. It's funny because one of the slogan's that my employer uses is "It's different up here" to describe the student experience. Well, I have to agree that is the same for me as a working professional and new resident of the state. It is Different Up Here!
Aside from being elevated well above sea level, I have literally been elevated emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and intellectually. I have little to no distractions up here and have been able to truly focus on those facets of life that matter most. Starting with myself and ensuring that I am the best in all and most aspects of my life has been my priority. I will tell any and all of my friends, there is no greater state of being than having clarity on your very own life. I've started and stopped many projects of my own in order to assist and save any and every one else's. Having clarity in this literal new state of being in one of the coldest New England states is an assurance of my prosperity! I'll be sure to check in more regularly now that I have a tripod and can capture moments on my own. This is our year Gents! Please look out for one of my greatest contributions within the coming months. Until next time...be GREAT!
