Face Masks by Black Entrepreneurs

Good afternoon good people! As the "outside" seems to be opening up for many of us as the federal government's guidelines for social distancing ended on last Thursday, many of us are still perplexed as how we are to move forward and protect ourselves. We should always be conscious and mindful that most of what we do is guided by public policy. In this instance, while we are being permitted to occupy large public spaces that were considered non-essential, we have been charged with the duty of wearing facial masks. While this is a preventative method that researchers in the health and medical field have been using the last few decades, it appears that it is the new normal for those of us in society as a whole.

Opposed to the scarcely available traditional face masks, there are some states that require(d) the wearing of them or a cloth covering when leaving your home- Maryland, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Because I am in close proximity of New York and New Jersey, this is a point within the many recommendations and mandates that I did not take lightly. Prior to the public knowledge and national declaration of COVID-19, I did fly with the paper mask that you could get from any large retailer or pharmacy store. As those were said to not be as effective, I was forced to consider other options.

I thought that I would intently support those Black entrepreneurs that decided to ensure a level of protection with the public outbreak and national outcry due to COVID-19. Dr. Boyce Watkins and Dr. Claud Anderson have been speaking and educating Black America for years about the importance of circulating the Black dollar to build Black wealth in a country in which our ancestors constructed and developed. To that regard, Dr. Boyce Watkins, creator of

The Black Business School, is known for his appeal to push Black ownership and not just selling of labor to a job or career. He also encourages his supporters and audiences to own a business or even a part of a business that will accumulate value beyond themselves and their labor. Dr. Claud Anderson created and trademarked the term PowerNomics which is a concept and plan directed to Blacks that teaches how to pull resources and aspects of power together so that ultimately they can become producers and distributers- not just consumers- of their very own goods and wealth. It is because of these two brilliant Black men that I purposely spend money with Black entrepreneurs every chance I get.

Please take the opportunity to visit, invest, and support some of the Black business owners below who have lent their creativity to ensure our safety.
