Given that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the world to stop in so many aspects, how have you implemented new self-care techniques?


So I was always a Big Saver. Seeing how a lot of people were out of work and I was blessed enough to continue to work, I made it mandatory to save more and be more self-conscious with spending. I also signed up for therapy to just help my peace of mind during this time. It's scary right now, but I want to make sure that my mental and financial stability is still on the horizon.


What does self-care look like for you in this moment of universal stillness?

Peace of Mind, with mental and financial stability coupled with physical health awareness!


How do you suggest others move forward with implementing self-care techniques?


Figure out what you want to accomplish and why you're on this earth and run with it!!! You have to live with a purpose. So sit down and figure it OUT!!!

Given that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the world to stop in so many aspects, how have you implemented new self-care techniques?


Since COVID, my self-care techniques have been devoting more time to myself.

I noticed that I spent a lot of days helping others but neglecting myself. Therefore, I have spent most of my time completing my master's degree, building my business and spending time with family.

What does self-care look like for you in this moment of universal stillness?


I try to spend any time I can with my 93 year old grandfather and other family members. I have a lot of health issues in my family and it sometimes scares me knowing the damage this pandemic has done to the economy. In these unfortunate times, you have to live your life to the fullest because tomorrow is not promised.

How do you suggest others move forward with implementing self-care techniques?


You have to learn to focus on self and make sure yourself is happy. You can't help someone else if you're unhappy. Some people may need to limit the time spent on their social media platforms. Social media has really affected the world with all the false information and photoshopped pictures, which is constantly dividing the world.

No. My self-care remains the same as it was preCovid. Get enough rest, workout when feasible, and unplug from everything periodically.

What does self-care look like for you in this moment of universal stillness?


Understanding how paramount self-care is, I make an effort to maintain my mental clarity during these times. I am most often a loaner, so finding quiet time is extremely important to me.

How do you suggest others move forward with implementing self-care techniques?


I suggest others do what they love and fine solitude in, whatever that is. Don’t allow the world around you to break you down.

  1. Develop a regular sleep routine by going to bed by 10am

  2. Aim for a healthy diet as much as possible

  3. Take lunch breaks at work even tho I'm working from home

  4. Use sick-time for mental health days

  5. Get some exercise after work regularly by walking to Piedmont Park

What does self-care look like for you in this moment of universal stillness?


Self care to me looks like maintaining my sanity in a world of craziness by keeping busy as much as possible. I also try to maintain some sense of normalcy.

How do you suggest others move forward with implementing self-care techniques?


I know it may sound selfish but focus on your own self development. Think about what you can do to better yourself. I have three degrees and I started on a fourth one, not because I need it but it helps my brain active. Whatever you decide to do to self-care, ensure you are benefiting.
